Item Description

Anhydrite specimens are rare from this old classic German locale. Glassy, transparent to translucent, blocky anhydrite crystals solidly comprise this showy piece. The scattered reddish tint (sylvite? - it is not halite) adds color and character. John Albanese was a prominent New Jersey dealer in the 1940s through 1960s. His label dates from 1953-68. He died in 1969. Ex Richard Hauck Collection.
