Anhydrite with Calcite (old classic!)

Naica is known to have produced some outstanding Anhydrite specimens and this is an excellent and rare combination piece, from decades ago. One side shows pristine, translucent blades of Anhydrite with a pretty, light, ice-blue color. The reverse is another story, as it is completely coated by brown, sharp, scalenohedrons of Calcite. Projecting out from the blades, and seemingly emerging from under the Calcites, are several more prismatic crystals of Anhydrite. These create an even more dramatic look to this already excellent and aesthetic specimen from the famous mines at Naica. A classic, oldtimer, valued $750-1000
