Item Description

A classic Apatite specimen from Cerro de Mercado featuring a predominant, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, euhedral, prismatic crystal of Apatite with the well known slightly greenish yellow color sitting drusy purplish colored Chalcedony on matrix. The crystal measures 2.2 cm long. A few smaller secondary Apatites can be seen, but they are unfortunately contacted. These specimens are not nearly as common on the market as they were about 20 years ago, and are certainly some of the most distinctive crystals of Apatite from any locality in the world. MATRIX specimen are exceedingly difficult to obtain in this quality, especially in recent years. The crystal has great form and is well isolated on the matrix. Overall, a great quality specimen of this renowned Mexican material. Valued at $1,250.
