Item Description

A fantastic multi-crystal display specimen of the famous Apatites from around Renfew County, Ontarion. No specific mine was given, and it could be from Yukes Lake, Quadeville or even the Miller Property locale, but it's hard to say for sure. A lot of the specimens from this area are often single crystals, which are typically contacted, so it's incredibly hard to find not only a multi-crystal group like this, but the fact that one of them is actually doubly-terminated is significant! The largest crystal is repaired, but it doesn't take away from the overall visual appeal and excellent quality of the sharp, smooth, well-formed lustrous faces on the display side of the piece. The back / bottom of the specimen is contacted where it grew against the pocket wall, but you can see crystallized faces when you flip it over, so it's a very impressive overall specimen of this classic and now hard to find material. A must have for any Canadian or Apatite collectors. This piece has a retail price in the inventory of $1,250. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#813). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
