Item Description

Panasquiera is a Classic locale for apatite and these gemmy purple, hexagonal crystals exemplify why this has always been the case. The mine is now defunct, and specimens are harder and harder to obtain. This ccabinet sized specimen is nice because it features superb, gemmy apatites (to 2 cm) perched on an unusually pristine, and very impressive, quartz cluster. The starkly isolated apatites are, to me, a more rare and desirable style than others from here which might have more apatite in a coating upon quartz. Valued $2500, this is a superb specimen good enough for any collection of the classics and because of the association, a large specimen that still shows good quality apatite. 490 grams
