Item Description

Green apophyllite specimens from the famous Pashan Quarry at Poona are generally considered to be the finest found in India. This quarry closed in the late 1980s, due to population growth. The intense green color saturation of the crystals is unsurpased from the other localities. This striking "mountain range" of sharp and jagged crystals is excellent and aesthetic example. All of the spires are pristine, except for the slight cleaved tip on the crystal on the right side. A bit of attachment matrix pokes out behind the highest "peak". Specimens of this quality are only available today from advanced collections. Valued at $950.
