Stunning, large psychedelic apophyllite on stilbite from the infamous finds of the early 2000s that remain famous and unique to this day. The discovery of these amazing fluorapophyllite "disco balls" while drilling large diameter water wells is certainly one of the Great Finds of the Deccan Traps, a well dig in 2001 (written up extensively elsewhere). This specimen is a classic with a "small ball" atop... A 4.3 cm "ball" of densely intergrown, gemmy, very glassy, mint-green to colorless tetragonal crystals with pinacoidal terminations is dramatically set atop the thin basalt matrix covered with mounded, pearlescent, beige stilbite blades. A few small apophyllites scattered on the stilbites are a nice accent to this striking 360-degree piece. A very fine large combination example of the species and finds. Value? We believe $2000-2500 is fair. Good ones are hard to come by today.
