Item Description

Fine Apophyllite (technically formally now it is Hydroxyapophyllite-(K)) specimens are RARE from the famous mines at Guanajuato. This superlative old-timer is from the Clarence Bement, American Museum and Larry Conklin Collections and dates to 1900 or earlier! A beautiful, glassy, 3.5 cm doubly terminated tetragonal crystal has a pretty pastel-pink center with colorless ends and well-striated faces. It is aesthetically attached to a cluster of smaller crystals. RARE and desirable old material with a super provenance! This is a large crystal for the locality. Valued $500
