Item Description

An excellent cluster Hydroxyapophyllite on a matrix of radial Inesite sprays, Quartz, and white Natrolite. The Hydroxyapophyllites have superb luster, are partially gemmy, and have a curving habit rather than the normal orthogonal, blocky form. The KOH species is much more rare than the common fluor-varietal of Apophyllite, and the Wessels crystals are among the world's finest of this species. The cluster is 3.8 cm long by 3 cm wide, with the largest individual crystal being 2.2 cm. An excellent example of a rare species. The Inesite crystals are about 1 cm, and the shimmering Natrolites about .5 cm.
