Apophyllite on Stilbite and Heulandite (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Indian Zeolites may still be fairly common on the market, but you cannot deny the fact that they are colorful, attractive, highly displayable and several of them are the finest examples of their respective species extant! This piece features a 1.5 cm, perfect, multi-terminated, color-zoned, emerald green color Apophyllite crystal on Stilbite with Heulandite. The green color in these Apophyllite is caused by the presence of Vanadium. I have seen very few Indian Apophyllite specimens with such a distinct color zoing like this one from this locality. Beautiful and aesthetic, and a great miniature of this well-known material.
