Aquamarine and Muscovite (New Find)

Impressive, sculptural and intact large combination plate from new finds in the well-known Nagar District. The well-placed 6.8 cm cluster of parallel-growth aquamarine crystals is highly unusual in itself. The gemmy aquas have fine ice-blue color highlighted with striking darker blue terminations. The prism faces are preferentially striated with satin luster or are glass-clear and are not striated. The termination faces are etched with satin luster. The aquas are set amidst densely intergrown muscovite plates with massive bone-white feldspar on the edges. Damage is noted to the adjacent smaller aquas and along the periphery. The back and 3 sides have been sawed to enhance the display. 1732 grams or 3.8 pounds mass. Artistic, colorful and unusual aquamarine crystals on this highly representative large combination from the famous locale.
