Item Description

This locality at Pisek is known for producing gem quality crystals of Aquamarine, but they are incredibly rare to find on the market. This piece is even rarer as it features a gem quality Aquamarine ON matrix, which is almost unheard of. The piece hosts a small (2 mm), sharp, lustrous, gemmy, hexagonal blue crystal of Aquamarine on Feldspar matrix. The close up photo reveals that the crystal is not fully terminated, but it does show sharp, lustrous prism faces. If you collect gem crystals or old world locality specimens, don't miss out on this very hard to find example from the Czech Republic. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1458). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
