Item Description

Of all the localities for Aquamarine in the world, the Pingwu specimens stand out for their rare habit and notably large crystals. It's important to stress that tabular Aquamarine crystals are rare, but when you find sharp, lustrous, gemmy crystals like this, it's even more impressive. This particular piece features a wonderfully intergrown group of gemmy / translucent, light blue, thick tabular crystals of Aquamarine with good luster measuring up to a full 5.5 cm associated with little white Albite crystals and minor bladed golden Muscovite. The basal terminations of the Aquas have really attractive "rippled" faces creating a wonderful dichotomy against the smooth prism faces. No major damage on the display side (I can see a few tiny nicks, but nothing of consequence) and gorgeous when you hold it in your hand. It's hard to convey the quality through photos, and the piece is BETTER IN PERSON. Valued at $3,200 in the inventory.
