Item Description

If you go back 40 years, the concept of owning a good GEM quality MATRIX specimen of Aquamarine was quite uncommon. Prior to Pakistan, most of the Aquamarine crystals in the world from places like Brazil or Russia were loose singles off matrix. This beautiful and showy small cabinet display specimen features an 3.3 3.0 cm crystal of soft powder blue color Aquamarine with sharp lustrous faces and WATER CLEAR internal clarity. The crystal stands proudly on matrix of beige-white bladed white Albite (var: Cleavelandite). The Aqua has wonderful presence as it's just flaring directly out of the underlying matrix. I can see a few tiny imperfections on the termination of the Aqua, but it's in superb shape overall. No etching, just incredibly smooth, well-formed faces all over the Aqua crystal. It's so hard to find GEM QUALITY matrix Aquamarine specimens like this outside of Pakistan, and this piece certainly stands out amongst so many others in my mind. The pleasing aesthetic balance of the piece would allow it to show beautifully in a display case. Priced in the inventory at $4,000.
