Aquamarine on Albite

Item Description

We have all seen aquas from here, but this association is particularly unusual and attractive. A stunning, 5.5 cm row of three, gemmy, water-clear, pretty blue, tabular aquamarine crystals is aesthetically perched on the side of a very large and sharp, 8.0 cm albite crystal. The glassy hexagonal aquas have typical for the locale, tapered edges. The large albite is very interestingly hoppered and etched and has a preferential overcoat of chlorite or an iron oxide. This showy and excellent CABINET combination piece is from recent finds at Mt Xuebaoding. Valued at $1200.
