Item Description

When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, especially in the Shigar Valley. This piece hosts dozens of good quality, sharp, gemmy, hexagonal prisms of Aquamarine up to 4.5 cm which are associated with contrasting black Schorl. The Aqumarine crystals have a distinctive color zoning, and range in clarity from mikly to virtually water-clear in areas. A good quality, three-dimensional attractive display specimen from Pakistan. The piece is crystallized nearly all the way around, and really has an interesting appearance, that is unlike virtually any other Aquamarine specimen I have seen from Pakistan. Valued at $1800-$2000.
