Aragonite var: Copper-bearing (New Find!)

Item Description

Aragonite is a fairly common carbonate species, but it's not always found in crystallized specimens. Even when you find well-crystallized pieces, they are typically white or off-white in color. This is from a new find in mid 2022 at the Wenshan Mine in Chin and features a desirable combination of fine crystals along with a beautiful pastel blue color (due to copper content in the Aragonite). The crystals have formed eye-catching "sprays" comprising, thin individual bladed crystals, which are sitting nicely on contrasting matrix. The majority of the Aragonites are in very good shape, though there is a contacted area on the back where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. Overall, a very showy and fine quality example of these gorgeous specimens from Wenshan.
