Item Description

Arduinite is an old-time synonym for mordenite. Fine specimens are RARE from the famous localities in the Fassa Valley of Italy. Stunning flame-red radial sprays of lustrous mordenite lathes dramatically cover two sides of the altered augitic basalt matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1955 and acquired from Scott Williams in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). This outstanding, rich and rare small cabinet is illustrated in the Fassa Valley MINDAT mordenite photo gallery. The photo is by Rock Currier.
