Item Description

A solid group of intergrown, prismatic silvery colored monoclinic Arsenopyrite crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm long. The crystals have formed a semi "birds nest"-esque group, but the crystals are still well-defined and distinct. Good specimens of Arsenopyrite from this mine are very hard to find on the market, and this piece is a worthwhile display specimen that would make a great addition to a sulfide suite or a collection of Mexican minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5798). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
