Item Description

Arsenopyrite is VERY RARE from this well-known Mexican polymetallic skarn deposit, famous for outstanding danburite, datolite and calcite specimens and more. Splendent sharp metallic-gray crystals, to 2.2 cm, have a beautiful light iridescence. The crystals cover all sides of this impressive, rich nounded specimen accented with quartz and calcite crystals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2749 and acquired from Sol Shale in early 1960s. Previously in the Jeff Abernathy Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An extremely fine, rich and RARE example of the species and locale.
