Item Description

A classic display specimen of Atacamite from the type locality for the species. This is an older specimen and is loaded with dozens of sparkling, almost wet-looking, rich emerald green, thin bladed crystals of Atacmite measuring up to 5 mm on a layer of soft green Chrysocolla on matrix. A great, colorful "old time" specimen of this beloved copper hydroxyhalide. Pieces of this size and quality are not easy to find on the market anymore - from the older finds - so don't miss out on this colorfull and richly covered specimen. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
