Augelite (LARGE rare green color crystal) with Quartz

A fantastic display specimen of the contemporary classic GREEN Augelite crystals from Peru. These have put virtually all other Augelites around the world to shame from the standpoint of size and color. This piece features a notably large, 4.2 cm gemmy / translucent, lustrous, well-formed, strong lime green crystal of Augelite sitting among thin, colorless, prismatic, hexagonal Quartz crystals. A secondary accessory Augelite crystal can be seen on the piece as well, growing next to the big Augelite. If you look closely, you can see that there is a beautiful "Japan-Law" twin Quartz crystal group on the piece as well for a nice touch! Only minor roughness, but you never see Augelite crystals THIS SIZE from any locality, let alone sharp, euhedral examples with this amazing color! Augelite is typically white or colorless from various world localities, and these Peruvian crystals set a standard for the species in terms of size and color. A very impressive and now hard to find example of these excellent Augelites, nothing has come out of this locality for a few years at this point, and we don't know if we'll see them again.
