Augelite with Barite (rare combo)

Item Description

These Augelite specimens from Machacamarca started appearing on the market circa 2001 and were some of the best crystals of the species to hit the mineral market in a long time from any Bolivian locality. They've since dried up, and you'd be hard-pressed to find them on the market today. This piece features dozens of fine, sharp, lustrous, colorless, gemmy crystals of Augelite measuring up to 5 mm associated with minor rarely seen blocky white Barite crystals measuring up to 5 mm plus shiny metallic octahedral Pyrite and Quartz on matrix. The quality of the Augelite crystals is very good and they are certainly good sized for this mine. Upon close inspection, I found a tiny spherical aggregate of soft mint-green colored Malachite on the piece as well, which is rare, but not unheard of for the locality. Don't pass this one up, as it's one of the better examples from the mine that we've had to offer in a while from this locality.
