Item Description

Augelite is a very rare aluminum hydroxyl phosphate. The only locality in the world that is producing crystals of any significance are the tin mines of Bolivia. These recent specimens are some of the best quality, gem/gemmy, aesthetic crystallized display specimens of this species that I have seen in a long time from Bolivia. This plate features numerous sharp, lustrous, gemmy crystals of augelite to 6 mm with numerous tan, opaque barite crystals measuring up to 6 mm with minor pyrite and quartz on sandstone matrix. This is a rich and fine combination specimen from this locale. Ex Zukowski Collection.
