Item Description

These are some of the best Augelite crystals from Bolivia to hit the mineral market in a long time. This piece features dozens of fine, sharp, lustrous, colorless, gemmy crystals of Augelite measuring up to 5 mm associated with small sparkling Quartz, octahedral Pyrite and even a few chalk-white blocky Barite crystals on matrix. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is the fact that small green aggregates of what I believe to be Malachite can be seen on various spots on the specimen. From my experience with Augelite from Machcamarca, less than 1% of the pieces I've seen have this unusual Malachite association. The quality of the Augelite crystals is very good and they are certainly decent sized (up to 3mm) for this mine. This rare phosphate mineral is not seen often in any format from any locality on the market. Valued at $650 for the size, quality and rarity of the specimen.
