Item Description

79 Mine aurichalcite is a classic and desirable Arizona species. Gorgeous, lustrous, turquoise-blue sprays of UNUSUALLY elongated needles richly and aesthetically cover both sides of the gossan matrix rib. The impressive long crystals are 1.3 cm. This famous underground mine was discovered in 1879 and was worked intermittently until the early 1950s (MINDAT). Collectors made some outstanding discoveries until the mine was closed in 1992. Exceptionally fine and uncommon aurichalcite.
