Item Description

Aurichalcite specimens from the historic and extinct Tintic District of Utah are uncommon and rich specimens, such as this are RARE. Sprays of beautiful sky-blue blades fill two prominent vugs and are richly scattered across the matrix plate on this exceptionally rich and uncommon example from this old mining district. Ex O. Ivan Lee Collection, a prominent East Coast collector who passed away in 1952. That's his label on the back of the piece. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1043, acquired from Burminco and dates to the1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). RARE and rich old-time material.
