Item Description

Gorgeous, highly lustrous, clove-brown colored "wedge" shaped crystals of Axinite-(Fe) measuring up to 9 mm are associated with gemmy, colorless modified rhombic Calcite from Baja California, Mexico. The Axinites have formed semi-"rosette"-shaped groups, and looks beautiful up close. A VERY showy and attractive display specimen of this classic yet elusive material from Mexico. Hard to find on the market, especially with the wonderful Calcite association. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8980). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
