Item Description

Incredible, lustrous rich blue color on this exceptional complex blocky azurite thumbnail crystal from Ajo. The photos say it all and the back has been pseudomorphed by fibrous malachite as a bonus. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9164 and acquired from Dick Bideaux at the Tucson Show in 1981. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Classic Ajo azurite. Ajo azurite is RARE compared to specimens from Bisbee or Morenci.
