Item Description
Here is a showy Azurite from a classic French locality! There are several, radial, royal blue sprays of acicular to thinly bladed Azurite crystals on a starkly contrasting off-white, granular Quartz matrix. There are nearly half a dozen two-dimensional sprays up to 1.5 cm across splayed out aesthetically on the matrix and these are composed of 2 to 8 mm, lustrous, elongate crystals. Rarely do we see many Azurites from this locality and this one is especially attractive with scintillating, radial displays of crystals on a fine, sugary, off-white matrix that has a touch of pearlescence to it. A beautiful and aesthetic small cabinet piece. Yes, they do look like linarite at first, but it is not. This is a rich, large example for this old mining district.
