Item Description

The Azurites from the Hanover-Fierro District in Grant County, New Mexico are some of the most distinctive U.S. Azurites with superb blocky monoclinic crystals, many of which formed as "floaters" or near "floaters". Most of the specimens are thumbnail sized and this piece is a great example of said material featuring a doubly-terminated deep blue crystal group with medium luster and good sharp faces. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9495). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
