Item Description

A really attractive small cabinet sized display specimen of the world-famous Azurite specimens from the Milpillas Mine in Mexico. This piece features excellent quality, good sized, fairly thick, sharp, highly lustrous, deep blue, "sword"-shaped crystals of Azurite measuring up to 2.7 cm sitting on a beautifully contrasting layer of white Dickite clay on matrix. One of the smaller crystals on the specimen is fairly thin, and actually shows a gorgeous electric indigo color when backlit. The large Azurite crystals are slightly gemmy near the edges with some backlighting. A few of the crystals are contacted, including a break on the largest crystal, so the piece isn't 100% pristine, but the majority of the crystals are in great shape and the specimen is attractive in person. The piece was priced in the inventory at $1,850. Great quality overall, and this material will only increase in value as the years go by, especially now that we're told the locality is done. These Azurite are some of the best crystallized examples of the species to come out of any locality in decades.
