Item Description

The famous Czar Mine at Bisbee produced from 1885 to the early 1900s and 'yielded more fine mineral specimens than any other in the camp' (Mineralogical Record Bisbee issue, September-October, 1981). Scintillating, spherical aggregates of navy-blue azurite microcrystals fill the sculptural, concave gossan matrix crust on this excellent old-timer from the Harold Urish Collection. The crystals glow with desirable electric-blue gemminess under bright light. Valued at $750. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! the sparkle and sheer pizzazz of the piece is hard to capture in photos, as are all such Bisbee specimens.
