Item Description

What was once fairly common to find on the market just a few years ago, has now changed to a seldom seen item in most dealers' inventories. These classic Milpillas Azurites may never bee seen again as unfortunately we have been told that the oxidation zone at the mine is finished, and these Azurites are no longer being mine. It's certainly sad to see the disappearance of some of the best quality Azurite specimens to come out of any locality in decades. This attractive miniature specimen features excellent quality, "wedge"-shaped / bladed, very sharp, highly reflective, deep blue crystals with minor white Dickite and no matrix. The largest individual Azurite is difficult to isolate, but the largest composite group measures 3.1 cm. Some of the crystals are actually thin enough on the edges that they show some color when backlit, revealing an electric indigo hue. Very little damage and super high quality for Azurite, as crystals with such sharp, lustrous faces are rarely seen outside of a few world localities. I love the fact that the specimen sits on its own and displays beautifully without the aid of a base or clay! Valued at $975.
