Azurite (fine classic material)

Some of the finest examples of crystallized Azurite from any locality in the world are those from the famous Tsumeb Mine. These pieces features incredible quality, crystallization, size and even gemminess(!) which simply puts them in a different league from nearly all other Azurites. This piece is a wonderful small cabinet featuring a pair of sharp, lustrous, well-formed, "sword"-shaped prismatic crystal groups of Azurite with a deep midnight blue color measuring up to 5.1 cm, aesthetically flaring off matrix. With very strong backlighting, you can see a deep neon indigo hue along the very thin edges of the crystals. There are a few nicks along the edge of one of the Azurites, so it's not pristine, but if it were perfect, I would easily have it in the $7,500 price tier retail. Still a showy and classic example of this beloved material from what most people consider to the be the single greatest mineral locality in history. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
