Item Description

Azurite is found in hundreds of world localities, but for a short time in the 2000s-2010s the Milpillas Mine produced some of the most extraordinary specimens of the species ever seen. These specimens stand among the finest Azurites from classic localities from places like Bisbee, Tsumeb and Touissit. This miniature specimen hosts several razor-sharp, very well-formed, highly lustrous, bladed, intense midnight blue color, Azurite crystals measuring up to 1.6 cm which are sitting aesthetically atop contrasting white Dickite covered matrix to create a showy display specimen. For the most part, the piece is in good condition, but it should be noted that the largest crystal is broken along the right edge. I really love how the piece displays wonderfully without the aid of a base or clay. Many of the smaller secondary crystals are fairly thin and are VERY GEMMY when backlit, showing an amazing glowing indigo hue inside. The color is so blue, it actually looks purple if that makes sense. These pieces are drying up fast on the market, so don't miss out while you can get them.
