Item Description

An important, rare, rich and showy combination from this historic Black Forest mine. Blue azurite botryoids and green malachite botryoids cover the front of the colorful, sculptural front and both ends of the matrix. The underlying matrix is glassy, pastel-green fluorescent fluorite, a rare combination. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1789 and acquire in 1960 or 61. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A classic, probably old-time, rare combination from the Clara Mine. Ex Wouter VAn Tichelen Collection.
