Item Description

Mineral specimens are rare from the open pit Highland Valley Copper Mine, the largest copper mine in Canada. It produces from a low-grade copper molybdenum porphyry and collectable copper mineral specimens from the thin oxide zone are rare. The front of this colorful thumbnail is richly covered with bright royal-blue azurite crystals nicely acccented with sections of malachite botryoids. Very uncommon and desirable older material and comes with a David K. Joyce label, a well-known Canadian mining engineer, collector and dealer.
