Item Description

The beautiful and iconic Azurite specimens from the Liufengshan Mine in China first started showing up on the market about 20+ years ago. In that time, they have remained as some of the most beautiful and fine quality examples of the species ever seen from any world locality. They have all the characteristics of the classic pieces from Bisbee, Arizona with their intense midnight blue crystals, and are often seen associated with Malachite.. You could still consider these as contemporary pieces, but they surely will go down as classics, as they are some of the most attractive representations of Azurite out there. This fine quality small cabinet sized display piece is loaded with sparkling, sharp, brilliant crystals of deep blue Azurite which are associated with lovely, flowing, botryoidal, velvety, mint-green Malachite and minor oxidized matrix. It's uncanny how much the piece resembles Bisbee! The piece is in excellent shape overall, as the only roughness is along the outer edges where it was removed from the pocket wall. A very showy, eye-catching and incredibly good quality example of these now beloved specimens. Valued $1,500.
