Item Description

A beautiful and aesthetic specimen from recent finds in China. The striking front of the piece is covered with rosettes of super-sparkly, two-toned, azurite blades, midnight-blue or pretty royal-blue. A nifty layer of banded malachite lies between the azurite and matrix. Contacting reveals the inner core of one of the rosettes with the pretty royal-blue and malachite, side-by-side. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but is a modest detraction. The quality of the azurite is excellent. Chinese azurites of this quality compare very favorably with Bisbee material. High praise.
