Item Description

A truly stunning miniature that stands out among a crowd of thousands of Milpillas miniatures, for the sharp azurite perched perfectly atop contrasting (and weirdly fibrous) malachite. The colors on both are pure blue and pure green, saturated. The contrast is striking, particularly with the additional contrast of the textures (the azurite sharp and almost metallic, while the malachite is more velvety and matte). It is complete all around, 360 degrees, perfection. You could not ask for better balance. The large crystals is 3 cxm, about 1.2 inches, across - pristine, razor sharp, perfect. A competition level miniature worth thousands of dollars, if you saw it at a show today. ex Keith Williams personal collection (Keith is a retired dealer, known for his taste in aesthetic miniatures, USA classics, and Colorado material. He was one of the first to bring out Bulgarian material in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and a dealer for perhaps 50 years. )
