Item Description

From this historic / ancient copper mine in the Black Forest - which closed in 1924 - here we have a VERY rarely seen specimen featuring very sharp, lustrous, well-formed, semi-radial / "flower"-shaped "sprays" of deep azure blue colored crystals of Azurite with minor accenting mint green Malachite on Quartz on matrix. The largest group measures about 6-7 mm across. The Azurites looks beautiful up close, and if you collect secondary ore minerals or specimens from the Black Forest, don't miss out on this obscure and attractive specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4769). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
