Item Description

A beautiful historic specimen of the old classic Azurite "roses" from the La Sal Mining District in Utah. Dozens if not hundreds of lustrous, fine quality, sharp, well-formed crystals of midnight blue Azurite are intergrown to form a beautiful "rose"-shaped group which is highlighted by velvety green Malachite overgrowths for a beautiful color combination. This piece is nearly a complete "floater", as it's crystallized all around with only a few tiny points of attachment. A very showy and fine quality specimen that was found circa 1990. These pieces are now quite difficult to find on the market these days, and along with specimens from Arizona, are some of the finest Azurite "roses" from anywhere in the United States. Priced at $1,200 in the inventory.
