Azurite "suns"

Royal-blue spherical azurite "suns" are aesthetically clustered on the sculptural large matrix on this showy specimen from recent finds at the Malbunka Copper Mine. The large "sun" is 3.8 x 3.7 cm. The azurite suns form between layers of kaolinized siltstone. The aggregates were forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner. The suns in the interior are pristine and the minimal periphery wear to the suns on the bottom of piece has negligible impact to the overall excellent quality of the piece. Not another azurite locality in the world produces them quite like this. A fine matrix piece with multiple "suns" highlighted by the clusters.
