Item Description

A striking, very aesthetic and colorful specimen of azurite "suns" from recent Australian finds. The flattened rosettes, with two beautiful colors of blue and good luster, look great against the kaolinite siltstone matrix. The azurite rims around the crystallized interiors really add character. The azurite suns form between layers of kaolinized siltstone. The aggregates were forced to grow in a laterally compressed, radiating manner. Not another azurite locality in the world produces them quite like this. An excellent matrix piece.
