Item Description

A very attractive small display specimen of Azurite from the famous contemporary locality at the Milpillas Mine. This piece features FINE quality, sharp, very lustrous, deep blue, thick tabular crystals of Azurite with associated acicular Malachite on host rock matrix forming a really eye-catching specimen. The Azurite crystals are slightly gemmy near the edges when backlit. The main crystal on the specimen measures a full 3.0 cm. There are few nicks and contacted crystals, so the piece is not pristine, but it's very showy and attractive in person. The high luster of the crystals makes them almost look "wet" which is not terribly common for Azurite worldwide. The piece was priced in the inventory at $1,850. Good quality overall, and this material will only increase in value as the years go by, especially now that we're told the locality is finished producing this material. These pieces are unquestionably some of the best crystallized Azurite to come out of any locality in decades.
