Item Description

Highly lustrous, sharply terminated, dark navy-blue azurite blades, to 2.0 cm, are clustered jackstraw fashion on this rich and excellent specimen from Tsumeb. The famous 1994 discovery known as the 'Easter Pocket' from the 8 Level, was the last major azurite find at Tsumeb. The matrix is accented with green bayldonite. "Electric-blue" color is scattered in the blades under bright light. The major crystals are nearly pristine, with only a single gentle edge bruise noted. This is a showy, rich and highly representative example from a highly sought-after find. None are available on the market, and generally they are priced at a premium, even for representative pieces. Valued at $1500-2000.
