Sharp, lustrous, navy-blue azurite crystals to about 9 mm encrust all sides of this very rich, sculptural, two-sided rib and glow with electric-blue brightness under strong light. The interstitial malachite is a classic compliment to this excellent old-timer. Complete all-around and in great shape. The interiors and crestline are pristine. The primary attachment is at the base and either end is only gently bruised. The ancient Chessy mines were closed by 1875. A fine French classic of good size and displays well without aid from both sides. Valued at $900.
