Item Description

Bisbee is one of the signature localities for Azurite in the world. Some of the most iconic examples of the species have been found at the various mines in the far southern part of Arizona. This piece is a lovely toenail sized piece featuring several stark blue "rose"-esque groups of Azurite with an almost resinous luster, measuring up to 6 mm across are associated with a handful of radiating spherical aggregates of Malachite on matrix. No major damage, only a couple of minor bruises, and the Azurite looks better under magnification than it might appear in this listing. Classic material, and certainly becoming harder to find on the market now.
From the collection of David E Ziga, a geologist who graduated Miami (of Ohio) University in 2017, with a mineralogy background.
