A beautiful small cabinet display specimen from the famous copper producing region in Mexico. Vibrant blue botryoidal aggregates of Azurite are sitting atop green banded / botryoidal Malachite on contrasting matrix. If you collect Azurite, or just attractive little pieces from Mexico, this is a great one for you. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1689). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous district.
